Embedding YouTube Videos in Powerpoint

Embedding online videos such as YouTube is as simple as finding the video you would like to embed and copying the video URL.

Open your PowerPoint and choose the Insert tab from the toolbar.

Click the “Online Film” button and paste the Video URL.

Blocked Videos

When opening a PowerPoint with embedded YouTube or other online videos you may find that PowerPoint disables the media for Security reasons. This is easy to miss and may lead to a video not playing during your presentation.

When opening a PowerPoint keep an eye out for the beige (or is it the cream, the white, the off white or the ivory?) Security Warning banner that appears below the toolbar when External media has been blocked.

To unblock the content, click the Enable Content button on the right side of the banner.
