The Illawong and Weyba rooms are equipped with an audio system suitable for events such as chapels and guest presentations. The audio system includes:
-2 handheld microphones that can be used in the Illawong/Weyba rooms (Microphones 1 and 2 can be collected from the Aquatic Centre reception. It is recommended to check the availability of the microphones when booking the Illawong room as they may be required for Aquatic Centre functions).
– 24/7 Background music service.
– Ability to connect instruments or other audio sources to the system is also possible via an 8 channel input box.
– Audio from a laptop plugged into the MTR conferencing system is played back through this audio system.
Control of the system is via the Q-Sys Control Panel located in the Weyba Room.
Setting up the room #
1. Touch the Control Panel in the Weyba room to wake it up. You will be prompted to enter a 4 digit PIN (8888).
2. The Home screen allows a user to select a preset that suits their needs.
Event: This preset turns on the Weyba room speakers. Users are presented with a pop up asking whether they are using microphones. Users can select or deselect Mic 1 or Mic 2 depending on their needs, pressing the Confirm button to apply their choice. Selecting a microphone will unmute and set the volume for that particular microphone, as well as muting the microphone in other Aquatic Centre locations. A microphone that is not selected will be muted in the Illawong Room to avoid unwanted disruptions.
Meeting: This preset separates the Illawong and Weyba rooms to avoid audio from a Teams call unintentionally being heard in the Weyba room. The preset also mutes the Aquatic Centre wireless microphones in the Illawong Room to prevent interruptions if they are being used elsewhere in the Aquatic Centre.
Advanced Controls #
Pressing the Advanced Audio Control button will open a page that allows users to adjust individual microphone volume, turn on and adjust volume for Background Music and access the GoCase Mixer (an 8 input interface for instruments and other audio devices).
Note: Selecting one of the presets will restore settings to the default for each preset. Adjustments that are made in the Audio Controls may be restored back to default if the Event or Meeting presets are loaded after adjustment.
